Movie review of "Andhadhun"

Adopted from a short movie DL'Accordeur (The Piano Tuner) directed by Oliver Treiner this movie has created a new wonder world with a musician who thinks that blind people possess more focus on their art then people with full functioning eye. People with eye tend to divert their focus to unnecessary stuffs around. Ayushmann Khurrana wants to focus on music. It is said that great musician composer Beethoven had bad ear. He could hardly hear so he uses to have a small machine to hear people around him. In spot of that he became world renowned musician. May be he has this understanding that if he close his eye he will have more focus on his music practice so he could join a competition on London. Though he had eye but he was taken as a blind person. So he gets to witness some extraordinary Incidents which makes movie so unpredictable that each new scene amazes you.

This movie has made an expedition on unknown and unexplored domain of human life. This movie also can be taken a tribute to all those musicians who want to undergo some unique experiments to create some great work of art. This movie juxtaposes thrill or horror and suspense. I will not say that it is a must watch movie but if you are tired of soft romance and predictable Hindi main stream movie this movie will rock your brain. This movie also is caution for those who are thinking to walk some unexplored road of experimentation with life to create art of to focus for art. But I am sure you will not get bored throughout the movie. In summary a blind pianist's life is turned upside down by a series of mysterious events, and a crime that he did not witness and we witness amazing tale of knowing the value of life. Therefore its simply great and simple movie

Movie Review: "Badhai Ho" directed by Amit Sharma

          “Badhai  Ho” simply means congratulation to you. In Indian subcontinent we congratulate our beloved ones on many occasions. In this movie we get rarest opportunity to witness the unique phenomena happening in family. A mother of around fifty gets pregnant. It becomes extremely awkward situation to break the news to two adult sons .The news spreads in family and neighborhood. Indian society takes a bit more interest in others affairs, this becomes quit a situation where adult sons get so embarrassed that they even don’t dare to go office or college just they don’t want to face the situation or comments. When girlfriend of one elder son tells this news to her widow mother who is supposedly don’t believe belong to middle class family. This widow mother of that girl makes fun and criticizes this act of old women being pregnant as a symbol of lower or middle class behavior which by coincident is heard by elder son (Ayushman Khurana). This becomes the pick moment when he starts not feeling guilty of his mom being pregnant. Same thing happens at another family party where these two sons do not participate just because of shame of mom being pregnant. All women criticize the pregnant mom as shameless act and as not mature or did of a class. And here we witness amazing dialogue of Dadi or Granny who admires the pregnant mother as women of class and dignity.

          We feel kind of worried as a people of twenty-first century society when these two grown up sons behave as if their parent has committed a great sin. Later when they hear of other people making fun of this story, suddenly realizes that this is not something to feel ashamed of. We also come to get insight that we have almost made assumption that old age is just the age of retirement. No romance is the right of old aged people. This movie in one aspect teaches or inspires old aged people to enjoy their life. At the same time it also inspires one to create a bond in family.

          In the market when we are hearing so much bad review of “Thug of Hindustan” people are talking that in so much low budget with no explosion, no foreign shooting, no fight and no hi-fi props too one can create such a beautiful movie. I will recommend you to watch this movie with your family. You will feel more loved and more in harmony with your beloved ones. I would love to congratulate director Amit Sharma for bringing such a unique story to us. And I will give 4 stars out of 5 to this movie.

Review of Nepali Feature Movie "Lily Bily" director by Milan Chams

 

Lilly Billy attracts your eye at first glimpse. Magnificent view of Scotland scattered around movie will give you feel of being inside Europe. Characters specially new heroine Jassita Gurung’s presence pleases you as her soothing narration and grace creates an aura. Though you may feel may be she is in a bit over make up with extra big eye lashes and extra colorful contact lens. I will say story is not bad but not that attractive too in comparison to the scene captured by drone throughout the movie. Presence of Priyanka Karki brings some twist and emotional touch to the story. I must say music in the movie is quit new and unique. 

Listening to the music no one will say it’s bad music rather it is experimental. But I also must confess that this movie lacks more romantic and catchy composition. The music didn’t help the movie at all and this is major reason for making this movie a flop movie. Either it’s in Nepal or in India romantic music with good tune is essential part in making movie a successful movie. I deeply appreciate the cinematography team of movie for making it a watchable and desirable movie. Your eye will feel good throughout the movie. 

Pradeep Khadka creates rhyme with someone else’s name and introduces himself with a new name just to connect with that person. This happens in many places in movie, and I am sure this part of the story will surely touch you. You will also get a feeling of going through a novel in a visual form while watching movie. Casting wise director Milan Chams appears quit successful because all the characters fit into their relative background and story. As a whole I will recommend you to see this movie to enjoy the beauty of Scotland without having to go there for real. You will also enjoy this romantic love story with your beloved in your arms if you have ;). I will give 3 out of 5 stars for this movie.
