Some One Else Is Singing From Within

                                                 

 

It may appear that I am the one who sings all these divine songs, compose all those soulful words and decorate it in beautiful notes of music. But I am strongly convinced that someone else from deep within is singing and is in charge. Many time the feeling of "yes it's my practice, my sweet voice, and compositions are the things which makes me the great singer and beloved of all audients" comes in my mind. And just to act polite I may say "thank you for appreciation but I am blessed by god to sing, its all up to god and that divine power" and more idealistic words may come out of my mouth. But when I think of Albert Einstein's quote "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the Mysterious", and I think to myself that, "this mysterious music which is beyond my mind is just the gift of mysterious, who is silently singing from my voice and is calmly writing from my hands." Here I shall elaborate more on the way we create work of art, institutional way of working in creativity, and self-reflection on music created by myself.

Last month, one morning I couldn't speak at all, my voice became so husky that I couldn't talk and make me understood, I had to speak low, I could hardly sing and it went for almost three week, with ayurvedic medicine I came into form again. Before this incident I was so confident about my vocal and music that I would obviously think my vocal and music is out there just like that and I owned it for granted but unknowingly when my vocal got interrupted that made me deeply understood that I may not even notice and suddenly, I am gone ! my vocal, my fan, my composition, my music all is just gone in a blink and I may not even notice. So this incident gave me a great insight and understanding that  "I am not the one who sings, actually some one else sings from within and am just a Poppet, reciting what that divine extraterrestrial wants me to perform, recite or compose." All sort of scientific logic comes in mind until the situation is under control, but when the situation is out of control the first thing we do is pray with god, and just by putting hands together, bowing in front of some deity of our faith we feel so relived, almost half of problem goes away by praying and believing that; all is under that divine power's control and will be ok with help of that power.

Since time immemorial, many people have performed the different form of art. Many came and went away with no trace but very few legendary artists and their creation live for ever. Either Meera, Kavir, Nanak, Chaitanya, Hari Das, Baiju Bawara, Tukaram, Mozart, Beethoven, Pablo Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci, Krishna Das, Sanatam Kaur, Kitaro, Yani, Ustad Nushrath Fathe Ali Khan, Abida Praveen and many more sage like being creation is praised and recited by and by through the ages. The same thread that can bind all these artists is the feeling of devotion in their creation and all of them devoted their creation in the name of divine power not just a materialistic beauty. They praised the divine energy which binds all the being in universe. And created art, literature, and music to uplift the consciousness of themself and other. Some time they created materialistic creation symbolizing the divine entity which was misinterpreted by peoples. And this kind of misinterpretations will also go on as all of us are not in the same level of understanding.

As all being in this universe are blessed with some special talent and creativity, but very few only come to know the blessings of divine. I believe by the mercy of many masters and divine entity, I am blessed to know that. I dream, we all know our-self and create art with the devotion to mother nature and humanity, which will enlighten our art and fragrance of art shall circles the universe. As Osho says " when we feel like holding few drops of water from ocean in our hand then we loose whole ocean but when we keep our palm open the whole ocean comes in our hand." So just by being open to unlimited possibilities we are taken care of and that's exactly what I feel with my music. When I think 'I am the one in charge', the whole music becomes so greedy and low in vibration but when I devote the music for that unconditional lover nature and let it create music or flow through me; just magic happens after that.

It's not that I am speaking so idealistically but if we create our creation or work of art out of unconditional love and harmony to share the positive vibration to all being, for-sure that creation becomes more eternal and the whole existence helps us to make it more eternal creation. As Paulo Coelho says in "The Alchemist" that "If you dream to achieve some thing so intensely and strongly through your whole being then whole existence will conspire the nature to support you to make your dream come true." So, I sing and write my songs to heal the world, to share my unconditional love, to make my self an enlightened being and enlighten the whole universe. Then of course the god, the nature, the extraterrestrial, sings through my being. And I am no more alone whole existence rejoices and sings with me. Hence, I conclude that I am not the one who sings, someone else is singing from within.

Travelling and Knowing the Self

As I was travelling, the Sun was same which shined in its full beauty from the Himalayas of Nepal, from the rocky mountains of India and set exactly the same way in the deep sea at Swedish archipelago. The Moon was running in its own cycle in exactly same way ... but the different was the land, its vegetation and the heads where their light fell on. Water that I drank was all of same property of cooling and reliving from thirst.  I still remember the sweetness in smell of Danish snowy wind and fishlike order of wind blowing in the tsunami hit villages of South Indian coast of Indian Ocean.

When I fled up and up more up high in the sky and saw the great Himalayan range in the North of Nepal, white snow seemed as if it was decorating the green valleys and hills like garland, there was no border which can differentiate that another side of the Himalaya is Tibet, nor the green great plane land was saying any thing about India and Nepal border. The whole world was without border, at that time "I felt so jealous of birds and animals! who roam here and there freely all around without any visa or passport, and felt ashamed of being a human for creating boarders and differentiating between the nation and human."   

I have travelled many villages and cities of Europe mostly Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Thailand, India and of course Nepal where I was born. In this great journey of my life I have tasted so many different foods, touched so many different land forms, walked in exhausting dry desert and freezing snowy roads, I have felt too many shades of wind in my face, and have swamped in different ocean which actually is one and just have different name from the different part of world, which surrounds this earth from all around but can't really see the earth making difference in anything it's offering to us. Earth is so unconditionally in love with all of beings, either small insect or huge whale. It has provided everything to all who reside here with right temperature and food. Camel in desert is blessed with great art of living in thirsty environment and it has given a long sleeping ability to panda in Himalayas to rest in peace and wait for new grass to grow. Frogs are blessed with art of living in dry days to wait the rainy season.  

Yes, bird looks different than champagnes and human looks different than insects, we all look different in color, shape and size but we all came from the same source to this existence. It's possible that we can't talk each others' language, but we all have feeling of love and compassion which binds us and unites us. It's natural that in this eco-system, frog eats insects and frog is eaten by snake and tiger eats deer and so on but we all are the creation of same existence. We are so similar in the level of feeling, we all need family, friends and want to live in a community of our own. It's so hard to understand that we are connected from deep within, scientists are saying so loudly for ages that we all are connected with the same thread of nature in this existence.  

I am a musician by profession, I have composed many songs on love, tragedy and patriotism. I always thought for my people and my country, actually never thought globally. As I travelled and saw many countries and people living there, I couldn't see any difference in us, than language and skin, rest was all same we all love to be loved, everyone wants to have some sort of belongingness and cared for. I couldn't see the different sky, sun or moon. Actually I was quite amazed when I landed in Denmark for the first time and knew that this land was called Copenhagen, Denmark. It surprised and gave me a great insight of how can land be different when it is connected in every aspect with my part of world. While flying in Sky there was no any means to differentiate that, above which country was I flying. Once going to Germany by car from Denmark suddenly a text came in my mobile saying "now you are in Germany and you are most welcome in our land" that just shocked me because there was not even a border check or any gate or such thing with any police, which made me think if we live in peace we don't need any police and boarders. 

Till this date I haven't found any individual human in earth who says that he only loves his family and country, I have met so many open minded people in this great journey with great heart to unite this world and be a universal citizen. But if you visit the mass of people following any political leader, any sect of religion or a group of some cast or color then you will find many group of people hating others group and loving only own. So we should know deeply within that we are fragmented in heart by these selfish leaders, politicians and exploiting philosophies. I dream and wish we will unite once again in the name of Humanity and bind our heart and soul and rise above cast, creed, color of skin,  country and make our time the best era in whole history of this earth.   

So travel my friend! Travel! And know this earth more closely from your heart, as all the rivers from Himalayas are running to meet sea and oceans far away. Our Rhinos and Tigers from Royal Chitwan National Park visit Indian Bengal tigers and have children together, Siberian birds travel thousands of mile to come to Nepal and have their babies born in Nepali forest, raise them and go back home, clouds from Bay of Bengal bring rain for our farmers in Nepal, we all are connected friends we all are ....

There is no such word like 'foreigner'. We all are from same family ! As our sages said thousands of years ago " Bashudhaiba Kutumbakam" which means the whole world is one family.

Ramesh Harilatthak and our creations

 

On 10th of the month of Magh which is winter and full moon an organization called Anurag Literary Society of Rupandehi, Nepal announced the first ever Ramesh Memorial Prize. I was the one who was chosen for the award. Deep Milan called from Dubai and Nirmal Dhungana called from Butwal. It was a great honor to receive an award which was really nice thing.

In the contest of Nepali  singer Narayan Gopal, artist Manuj Babu Mishra, lyricist Kali Prasad Rijal or Ratna Shamsher or on the contest of Indian writer Guljar and singer Jaggit Singh, musician R D Burmen and singer Aasha Bhoshle all of above mentioned people  created great work of arts. What I am trying to say is that by the collaboration of writer and musician they create great work of art. If a musician gets a book from a random writer and starts composing music on that poem the singer or musician may not be able to create great music because he or she doesn't know the writer. So by the collaboration of these two could lead to great work of art. 

On the first meeting with Ramesh Harilatthak we also discussed on the same is sue to create an environment to create great literary works. For some extent we can see some work have been done on that direction but not on larger number. Being a musician I am also trying to make such collaborations with few writers like Dr. Ghanshyam Neupane Parishrami and Swami Shantam Shree. When singer and composer understands the feeling of writer and vice versa it helps to make great composition.  On the other hand musician also should give new ideas to writers and writers also should suggest new ways of composing music so that they both will creatively help each other. 

  

I met Ramesh Harilatthak for around 4 times , each meeting would be really inspiring and full of new ideas. After he left this body I am desperately searching those kind of young energetic persona. Thank you Ramesh ji for your short but sweet friendship. 

 
You are always in our heart. 

I would humbly request to musicians and writers to make a good friendship and share their work. So that each will know the need of both and the lacking that they see in their particular composition, either music or lyric. Till which date shall we say those days were amazing? Lets create new amazing days and amazing creations.
